The candidates for Athens’ mayor are going to be participating in an unusual forum in an online live-stream on Thursday.
The Athens video production company, DT Productions, will be live-streaming Thursday’s online-only mayoral forum on Facebook and Twitter. All three candidates that have qualified for mayor are expected to participate in the forum: Kelly Girtz, a current member of the Athens-Clarke County Commission, Richie Knight, a local businessman, and Harry Sims, a former ACC commissioner.
Moderators for the forum include Andrew Levy, a DT Productions founder, Flagpole editor, Blake Aued, and Nate Harris, a reporter with the UGA student newspaper, The Red and Black.
The candidates will be allowed to introduce themselves and then they will be asked questions in the three categories of economy and housing, public safety and education, and community. The live stream will start at 7 p.m. on Thursday, and can be found on DT Productions’ Facebook and Twitter page.
