The Athens-Clarke County Police Department is investigating the death of a man whose body was found near Franklin Street and West Hancock Avenue.
According to a department media release, officers responded to a report of a deceased person in the area just before 7 o’ clock Wednesday morning.
The deceased is a 26-year old white male. The investigation into the cause and manner is ongoing. The name of the individual is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
