ACC Government Urges Caution During Irma Clean-up

Athens-Clarke County Police Department

The Athens-Clarke County government is reminding residents to use caution during their clean-up efforts after Irma.

After receiving reports of homeowners engaging in DIY projects, the ACC government is urging residents not to climb on, cut, move, or remove fallen trees that are still on roads after Tropical Storm Irma. Fallen trees are often tangled with utility lines that requite repairs from utility companies before ACC crews can remove them. Once company crews have repaired the lines, ACC Transportation and Publics crews will remove the trees as soon as possible. The Solid Waste department will then remove any remaining debris.
