The Beatles Come to UGA

17 February 2014

UGA's Peabody Awards and the Georgia Film, Music and Digital Entertainment Office are coming together to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Beatles Coming to America.

The two-night festivities include a free on-campus screening this evening of a Beatles TV special from the Peabody archive. The special, The Beatles Revolution, an ABC-VH1 joint venture originally shown in 2000, takes stock of the Beatles’ music and the group’s larger cultural impact. It includes performance clips. The show will take place in the Russell Special Collections Library auditorium. The event starts at 7 pm this evening and is open to the general public.

Tuesday, the Tribute to the Beatles gets underway from 7:30 to 10 p.m. at Hendershot’s. Admission is $5, with proceeds benefiting the UGA String Project.
