25 February 2014

A three-vehicle crash last week involved a school bus in which nine children were aboard.

All children escaped without injury, authorities said Monday. A Nicholson woman was cited in the crash that happened at 3:19 p.m. Thursday. The crash happened when a Chevrolet HHR traveling east on Georgia Highway 335 crossed the center line and struck a westbound Jackson County school bus, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

The driver of the Chevrolet, Sandra Seden, 69, was cited for failing to maintain lane. Seden was transported to an Athens hospital with moderate injuries, according to Jackson County Emergency Services.

The bus was carrying students from East Jackson Elementary School and were evaluated on scene by Jackson County EMS and rescue personnel, authorities said.
