Incoming Freshmen Converge on UGA Campus

13 August 2014

The freshmen class of 2014 is converging on Athens. Students are moving in this week, and classes start next week. Thousands of students are moving into dorms and apartments on and around the University of Georgia campus.

For incoming freshman like Jessica Prasad, unpacking her belongings and getting into her dorm room was fairly painless.
“The dorms are surprising.”
And when you say surprising, what do you mean?
“They were a a lot smaller that I expected, but I live in Mary Lyndon and the closets are really big,” said Jessica.
But she is experiencing some first time away from home jitters.
“I think I’m more nervous, because my dad’s about to leave so I’m going to be by myself and I don’t know anyone.”
Jessica needn’t worry about meeting friends, she is one of over 52-hundred incoming freshman this year at UGA.
