Athens-Clarke Library

The Library needs donations of gently used formal wear for both girls and boys for its first ever “Bling Your Prom” event. The clothes and accessory drive will help ease the financial burden of prom for teens enrolled in Clarke County schools by providing free attire for prom.

The library is currently collecting new and gently used formal wear, costume jewelry, accessories, dress shoes and new or unopened cosmetics. Those able to donate old prom dresses, bridesmaid gowns, suits and other items are asked to take their donations to the library located at 2025 baxter Street.

BBQ 101 at ACC Library

Jul 15, 2017

The Athens-Clarke County Library is holding the latest in Adulting U sessions. Those interested are invited to attend BBQ 101 with Chuck Ramsey, owner of Pulaski Heights BBQ. Attendees will learn how to season, smoke, and serve BBQ.

Rhiannon Eades is the Public Information Office for the library system.

“So he’s going to deliver the basics of how to barbeque, how to season your meat, the best way to smoke it, the best way to serve it,” Eades said. Honestly, I think the best part of this program is there are going to be samples, so you can try some of that barbeque.”
