Usually if you were discussing rivers and banjo music you would be doing so as a reference to the classic movie Deliverance, but in this case the mention is far more meaningful. Grammy Award winning banjoist Alison Brown is teaming up with a local land trust for a benefit concert here in Athens. 

January is typically a time when many of us participate in setting a New Year's Resolution, even though most of those good intentions will fall by the wayside by the second week of February! Yes sadly that increase in gym memberships each new year does not typically lead to healthier, stronger citizens. It leads one to wonder if there may be options out there that might be so much fun that we forget it's exercise. However, swinging from a trapeze seems a bit beyond just fun exercise! For some at a local non-profit here in Athens, it represents just that, FUN!

Rabbit Box Radio is a collection of recordings of live story telling done right here from the stages of Athens Georgia. This  debut episode titled "My Life in Black and White" features stories about race relations in the south. Audio was pulled from the Rabbit Box archives of over 500 stories. The show includes a story from A.R. Killian (one of the two first black police officers in Athens),  Alfred Cooper (band member of Otis Redding and Percy Sledge), and many others.
