UGA's Spotlight on the Arts festival is almost here.  To kick off the Spotlight on the Arts festival, UGA’s arts programs present an hour-long kaleidoscope of student performances and presentations. This brilliant, non-stop collage of the arts provides a window into the vast scope of the creative work on our campus, from dance to music, theater, creative writing and art.  Dale Monson, Director of the Hugh Hodgson School of Music at UGA stopped by WUGA to talk with Michael Cardin about the event.

UGA Opera Theatre presents “Viva Verdi”

“Viva Verdi” is a compilation of highlights from 9 of Giuseppe Verdi’s most famous operas, and will feature performances by the University Chorus, directed by Dr. J.D. Burnett, the UGA Symphony Orchestra, directed by Mark Cedel, and a collection of soloists led by Professor Frederick Burchinal, veteran of the Metropolitan Opera in New York, and Director of Opera at UGA.
