UGA Undergraduate and Graduate Graduations Will Welcome in 2,800 New Alumni

More than 2,800 students are eligible for UGA’s fall Commencement. The university will welcome its newest alumni Friday as more than 1,700 undergrad and 1,100 graduate students have met requirements to walk in the ceremonies. 

 

The undergraduate ceremony takes place at 9:30 am in Stegman Coliseum. Tickets are required. University System of Georgia Chancellor Steve Wrigley will deliver the undergraduate address. 

 

The graduate ceremony is scheduled for 2:30 in the afternoon. Tickets are not required for that ceremony. Dr. Lisa Nolan, dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine will deliver the graduate address.

 

The SEC Clear Bag Policy will be in effect at both events.

Alexia Ridley joined WUGA as Television and Radio News Anchor and Reporter in 2013. When WUGA TV concluded operations, she became the primary Reporter for WUGA Radio. Alexia came to Athens from Macon where she served as the News Director and show host for WGXA TV. She's a career journalist and Savannah native hailing from the University of Michigan. However, Alexia considers herself an honorary UGA DAWG!
