The USDA and the Natural Resources Conservation Service, or NRCS, have set up a special statewide sign up to assist those affected by Hurricane Irma.
The two federal agencies have announced the Environmental Quality Incentives Program, or EQIP sign up is now open for farmers, ranchers, and non-industrial forestland owners that suffered damage due to Hurricane Irma. The program is available to help those producers treat crop, grazing, and forest land damaged by high winds, rain, and floodwaters. All 159 counties in Georgia are eligible for help, but priority will be given to the seven hardest hit counties determined by FEMA. The deadline to apply is December 15th.
