Two Athens teenagers who were reported missing for five days on Tuesday are back home safe, Athens-Clarke County police said Wednesday.
The teens, ages 14 and 16, were last seen on the night of Dec. 7 at the downtown Athens Christmas parade.
“They were found because of social media posts,” police spokesman Epifanio Rodriguez said. “They saw it themselves and turned themselves in after seeing the posts.”
Rodriguez said he had no idea where the teens had been, but they went back home.
