Juneteenth Celebration at West Broad Farmers Market

Members of the community are invited to the 4th annual Juneteenth Celebration in Athens. Juneteenth is an African-American holiday celebrating the emancipation of slaves in Texas and across the South.

Each year the Athens Land Trust marks this occasion by hosting a Juneteenth celebration at the West Broad Farmers Market. This year, this event is a recipient of one of the Athens Cultural Affairs Commission’s Arts In Community Grants.

The program features guest speakers, poets, live performances, a fashion show, an art exhibit, workshops, kids’ activities and more.
