Groundbreaking for Bogart Library Expansion

Members of the community are invited to attend the groundbreaking for an expansion project at the Bogart Library. The branch, located on Burson Avenue, opened in 1997. The expansion and renovation will increase the library’s size from 3,700 square feet to 10,000 square feet. Rhiannon Eades is Public Information Officer with the Athens-Clarke Library.

“It’s going to increase the size quite a bit, it’s going to give us some new features there at the library that’s going to be really nice for the community there,” Eades said. “The plans will be on display, we’ll have some light refreshments, it’s going to be a nice morning.”

The project is funded through a State of Georgia Capital Outlay grant administered through the Georgia Public Library Service and funds from the Oconee County Board of Commissioners. The groundbreaking is tomorrow at 10 am in Bogart.
