Governor Deal Announces Georgia as Top State for Business, Adds Fields to Hope Career Grant

Georgia.gov

Georgia has again been named the top state to do business in.

Governor Nathan Deal announced Monday morning that the leading economic development trade magazine, Site Selection, has chosen Georgia as the top state to do business in. This is the fifth consecutive year that Georgia has been named the number one business state by Site Selection.

Governor Deal attributed the honor to strong business partnerships, along with low tax burdens and a robust workforce in the state. Site Selection said they base their rankings on private investments, new jobs and construction projects.

Governor Deal also announced that he will be adding five new fields to the HOPE Career Grant program. The program helps to pay the full tuition of students who enter certain industries. The five new fields added to the grant include construction, aviation, electrical line work, logistics and automotive technology.

Over 14,000 students have received funds from the HOPE Career Grant in academic year 2017.
