'Dine Out Do Good' for Oconee Area Resource Council Programs

Oconee County residents and others are urged to eat out for a good cause Tuesday night.  The Oconee Area Resource Council is holding its 10th annual ‘Dine Out Do Good’ event. Participating area restaurants will donate a percentage of their proceeds to help the nonprofit support its Oconee Food for Kids, and Oconee Mentor programs.  Marketing Coordinator Rachel Marshall says the event helps bring attention to the need in the area.

“There are a lot of rural families and families in need and being a voice for them is definitely something that having these events allows us to do,” Marshall said. “Not only do we have an opportunity to fundraise and assist on a financial level, we also have the opportunity to educate and let people know that there are these families out here in your own community, and you can do something that affects the people that live in your same zip code.”

Participating restaurants will have green signs or balloons in their windows. The nonprofit OARC is part of the Georgia Family Connection.
