AthFest Music and Arts Festival 2017

AthFest.com

While this week has already seen some unofficial events, AthFest 2017 officially kicks off Friday. Recognized by Livability.com as one of the nation’s best summer festivals, the 21st annual AthFest Music and Arts Festival runs through Sunday night. Thousands of people are expected downtown each day for local and regional, music, art, comedy, beer gardens, and culture. Event Coordinator Daniel Robertson Jr. says the fun is also a great fundraiser.

“It’s all about the kids and raising money for grants for music and art programs at the local schools,” according to Robertson. “In 2016 and 2017 we were able to do $35,000 worth of grants. If we can the people out there and everyone’s excited and they’re buying wristbands to go the Club Crawl that night, they’re just helping to raise money.”

AthFest Educates has awarded more than $290,000 in grants to date.
