Due to the winter weather , the University of Georgia will be closed today. Inclement weather is resulting in several area school closings. All Clarke County schools and administrative offices are closed Wednesday, January 17. Students and staff should not report. All afterschool activities and athletic events are also canceled. Oconee County schools are also canceled as are all district offices. Afterschool activities and events are closed. Barrow County schools will be closed tomorrow, with a makeup day scheduled for Friday, February 16th. Madison County and Oglethorpe County schools will also be closed.
The Athens Regional Library System branches will have a delayed opening at noon tomorrow.
Athens-Clarke Unified Government offices are also closed.
