The Athens-Clarke County Police Department is investigating a shooting off Old Lake Drive. According to a news release from Public Information officer Epifanio Rodriquez, officers were called to the scene of a person shot on Old Lake Road. When they arrived, they heard someone yelling for help. Officers found the victim nearby with gunshot wounds to his leg and abdomen, and a large cut on the back of his head.
The victim said someone he knew picked him up from Bethel Homes and took him to the Old Lake Neighborhood. Once there, the victims stated another suspect came out of the woods with a gun, hit him in the head with a gun, then shot him. The investigation is continuing.
