“Tappy Hour” for “Fire Up the Hydrants”
One week from today, the winner of the Fire Up the Hydrants project will be announced. The top three vote-getters in the competition will be announced at a special "Tappy Hour" event at Creature Comforts.
Laurie Loftin, with the Athens-Clarke County Water Conservation Office says in addition to artists receiving prizes, attendees can also sample different types of water.
“For example we’ll have our Athens-Clarke County tap water, of course, we’ll also have some coconut water, some aloe water,” Lofton said. “Just giving people a chance to sample some different water flavors and people are also welcome to sample other items available through Creature Comforts. The event will be from 5:30 until 7 pm.”
March 22 is also World Water day. The day set aside by the World Health Organization to focus on a specific topic related to water. This year that focus is on “wastewater” and how we can look at this water a a resource to reuse.
