Peabody Awards Announcement on CBS
ATHENS - The Peabody Awards presented by the University of Georgia Grady College of Mass Communication and Journalism will be announced April 2nd via national broadcast on “CBS This Morning”.
A press release by the University of Georgia states that the announcement will be made by ceremony host Ira Glass and Grady College alumna Charlayne Hunter-Gault.
The telecast will also feature an interview with Peabody Director Jeffrey P. Jones and a tour of the Peabody archives, both of which were prerecorded last week.
The CBS portion of the announcement will also include select winners.
A viewing party will be held for the announcement at the Richard B. Russell Special Collections Library for students, faculty and the general public on April 2nd from 8:15 until 9 that morning.
The Peabodys are the oldest awards in electronic media and among the world’s most prestigious for recognizing excellence and meritorious work by radio and television stations, networks, webcasters, podcasters, producing organizations and individuals.
